Applying for Federal Employment Class
Interested in federal employment? This class will walk you through USAJOBS. Participants will also understand KSA's, what to look for in a job announcement, and how to get the process started. This class is co-instructed by both the A&FRC and CPO. "Applying for Federal Service" is 1 October 2010 from 1300 hrs to 1600 hrs. Due to limited space you must sign up for this class.

Resumé Basics Class
This class is for the person who has never done a resumé, or is seeking confirmation that what they have is on the right track. Held every other month, Resumé Basics includes not only information on format, appropriate content, and how to use the resumé, but actual input from a local employer who reads resumés on a daily basis. Dorm Move Class
This class is geared toward all Airmen anticipating a move out of the dorms within three months. Participants learn how to identify how much money is needed to afford to live off base, project a budget based on monthly expenditures, and decide if they are financially fit to move out of the dorms. Annual Volksmarch 19 Sep, Farish Recreation Area
Everyone is invited to Farish Recreation area to participate in the USAF Global Volkssport. Participants will have a choice of hiking 10 to 20 kilometers. The trail is located at Farish Recreation area directly west of the USAF Academy on the western slope of the Rampart Range. There will be no gate fee charged to Volkssport participants on the day of the event. The trail is rated a 3+ in difficulty and is at an elevation of 9,000 ft. Event participants will start at the multi-purpose center at Farish between 7:30 am and 1 pm. All participants will complete the event by returning to the multi-purpose center before 3 p.m. The Volksmarch is conducted by the Academy Outdoor Recreation Center, and sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association (AVA), a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV). The event is free if no award or credit is desired. The Award Medal (including IVV credit) is $5; IVV credit only is $3. Call 333-4753 for more information.

New LAN Security Tools
All non-classified Desktop machines connected to the LAN have received the new Anti-Virus (AV) Quarantine 3.0 application that, when fully implemented, will automatically put your Desktop into a quarantined state if the AV engine or definition files are out of date. You will have 2 hours from the time you receive the pop-up warning, that you must acknowledge, to contact the CSTs or LAN Service Desk, 567-COMM (2666) Options 2 or 3, to repair the AV system or your machine will automatically be placed in quarantine. If your machine is automatically placed in quarantine, you must contact the CSTs or LAN Service Desk, 567-COMM (2666) Options 2 or 3, to normalize your machine.

Schriever 4 Mile Fun Run: 23 Sep

The Military and Family Life Consultant is here to listen and address marriage and relationship issues, parenting, sibling and family issues, communication challenges, stress and anxiety, grief and loss, and daily life issues. The MFLC is available every day, 0730-1630, at the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Bldg. T-65. This consultant is also available at the chaplain's office Monday and Wednesday, 1130-1300. Liberty Passes are now available at ITT! The annual Liberty Pass is a season ski pass to Keystone and A-basin for active duty members only. Prices are $195.00 adult, and $112.00 child (age 5-12). In addition, the Patriot Pass and Patriot Pass Plus are now available at ITT for active duty only. The Patriot Pass is a season ski pass to Winter Park and Copper Mountain. Patriot Pass Plus is a season ski pass to Winter Park and Copper Mountain with an additional 6 days to Steamboat.
