Dear Resident(s):
I hope you have all had a wonderful week! Carlisa and I have been working hard to plan some upcoming events, and below is a list of the ones we have planned for the remainder of September and October.
* Stroller Walks: After seeing so many parents walking with strollers in our community, we felt it would be great to organize specific times where you all can meet together to walk! Therefore, starting on Tuesday September 28, stroller walks will be scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 730am. Meet at the Community Center and walk with friends, or make new friends! As the weather changes, we will re-evaluate the walks to see if a different time or activity would be beneficial.
* Community Information Meeting: Join us on Thursday September 30 at 530pm at the Community Center for an informative session. Formerly called a Town Hall, this meeting is designed for residents and management/Leadership to meet and discuss common goals and suggestions for the community. We need your input, and hope to see you there! Show up early! Schwan’s and Royal Crest Dairy will be here with FREE samples at 430pm. Check out their product line, and even sign up for regular service.
* Craft Time!: Based on suggestions from residents, we have designated two days per month for you to bring your crafts or hobbies to our Community Center to work on. We will provide tables and space to spread out; all you need to bring are your favorite things to do! Meet with others that have similar interests, and enjoy time developing your talents. Craft Time will be held on the 1st Wednesday of the month from 4-6pm, and on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 10am-12pm. We are also working to provide one Saturday a month for the same purpose, and are working to set up a Craft Fair, where all of you can display your talents for the Schriever community. Our first Craft Time will be held on Wednesday, October 6.
* Fire Prevention Day: Tierra Vista and the Schriever Fire Department are holding a Fire Prevention Day, in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week. Join us on Saturday, October 9 from 9am-1pm, for pizza, activities, demonstrations, fun in the bounce house, and more! Fire safety can be fun—come see on October 9.
* Community Clean up Day: In honor of Make a Difference Month, we are hosting a Community Clean up Day on Friday, October 15. Meet us at the Community Center at Noon, pick up some garbage bags, and help us clean up our community! When you return a bag of trash to us, you will be given a ticket that is good for a BBQ at 3pm, and also enters you in a drawing for a prize at the BBQ. No need to sign up—just show up at Noon and help us beautify our community!
* Tierra Vista and FSS host a Spooktacular: Hey kids! Get set for Halloween at our Spooktacular on Saturday, October 23. Food, fun, and games will help you get in the Halloween Spirit! Join us at the Community Center from 10am-12pm. Feel free to come in costume—a contest will be held for the best in several categories!
* Trunk or Treat: We will be hosting a Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 30 from 630-830pm. This option provides lots of Trick or Treating fun in a concentrated area! Decorate your car, play some spooky music, and fill your trunk with treats. Parking will start in the “U” at the front of our Community Center, and will then fill up our parking lot. Parking will then continue down Johnston Street to the parking lot at the sports fields. We suggest parking begins no later than 6pm, so that everyone can be in place for our 630 kickoff.
If you have any questions or suggestions for these events or events you would like to see in the future, please let us know. We appreciate your residency, and strive to make this community a place all can enjoy and call home!
